Tuesday, Sept. 11, Plutaluang – Stableford
Tuesday we went to Plutaluang where we played the North & West course. We saw Andy Nesbitt this week back after several months. This week we had only a small group, but we had a good competition. In the morning the weather didn’t look good, but later we had a perfect day with clouds, sun and wind. The course was in pretty good condition after all the rain in the night before.
Andy Nesbitt had some problems on the front nine, but on the back nine he recovered and won with 36 points. Second was Willem Lasonder with 31 points.
The near the pins went to Willem Lasonder.
Thursday, Sept, 13, Pleasant Valley – Stableford
Pleasant Valley was our venue for Thursday and we played a 5-ball on the B & C nines. The course was in good condition but there was a big difference between the greens on the two loops. On the B loop greens were fast and the C loop slow. After a night with heavy rain, we were afraid to find a very wet course, but to our relief the course was no wetter than normal. As it turned out, we had a nice sunny day with a nice breeze.
It was an exciting round without top scores. It was again Andy who played a strong back nine and he came third with 29 points, beating Paddy Devereux on the countback. Willem Lasonder played a strong back nine and won with 36 points. Second was Martin Hayes with 34 points.
The near pins were won by Paddy Devereux and Willem Lasonder.
