Tuesday, Oct. 18, Mountain Shadow – Stableford
“No-one is more surprised than me” – that is the quote of Clive Hoseason after getting a podium finish on Thursday, but more on that later. First to Tuesday, when we travelled to Mountain Shadow to dice with some of the trickiest greens in the area. The course was in good order, although the greens though offering a challenge did lack the fire of times past.
Jim Federspiel (18) played good golf nearly all day, but faded to score no points on the last 2 holes, allowing Jeff Wylie (6) to slip under his guard to edge him on a count back 17/14, after both scored a modest 31 points.
Thursday, Oct. 20, Treasure Hill – Stableford
Thursday we changed venues to take advantage of the reduced price at Treasure Hill, while they are completing their greens maintenance. I thought the greens were in reasonable condition, with the rest of the course in very good nick and was satisfied with the decision to change.

New player to ML, Gary Lunn (13) played very well on the front 9 for 19 points, before signing for 34 at the finish. Next best was the surprised Clive H (28) with 30, while Gary was the only one to snaffle a near pin, so 3 went to Banglamung Boys Home.
