PSC golf from The Fairway Golf Society

Monday, Jan. 31, Bangpra – Stableford

We arrived at Bangpra early today, as requested by the management as they had so many bookings.  They started us of on the 10th tee at our original tee off time.

Much to our pleasant surprise there was no monkey business after nine holes and no hold ups.  When we arrived at the 1st tee we had a clear course in front of us.  We also noticed that there were no monkeys to be seen anywhere.  So I asked my caddie where they had gone and she informed me that it was a monkey Buddha holiday, whatever that means?

Wednesday’s winners: Gary Jackson and Keith Allen. Wednesday’s winners: Gary Jackson and Keith Allen.

Anyway on to the golf and 32 players today so we had 2 divisions.  Alan Griffiths won the A Flight with 37 points and Tony Duthie, still on a roll, won the B Flight.

The 4 near the pin winners were Miss Mam, Keith Allen, Lee Butler and Barry Wellings.

A Flight

1st Alan Griffiths (12) 37pts

2nd Miss Mam (15) 32pts

3rd Andy Odell (10) 31pts

B Flight

1st Tony Duthie (21) 37pts

Wednesday, Feb. 2, Crystal Bay – Stableford

Another good turn-out of 30 players today so split into two divisions once again.

The scoring in both divisions was of a very high standard with a lot of golfers playing to their handicaps and 6 players below par.  So maybe the course was playing a little easier than normal?

The star of the day was Keith Allen, who was cut last week from 16 to 14.5, but that did not seem to trouble him as he shot the round of his life to return 43 points.

Near pins went to Pier Cere, Andre Vandyk, Keith Allen and Brian Lewis.

A Flight

1st Keith Allen (15) 43pts

2nd Brian Lewis (18) 39pts

3rd Andre Vandyk (16) 37pts

B Flight

1st Gary Jackson (28) 39pts

2nd Roy Dayton (22) 39pts

3rd Dick Hobson (24) 36pts

Friday, Feb. 4, Treasure Hills – Stableford

This must be one of the best ‘value for money’ courses to play at the moment as it is in excellent condition.  But yet again the course won on the day with only one player breaking par and only a handful of players scoring 30 plus points.

Two divisions today with the cut off at 17 and Richie Neville won the A Flight with 37 points while the still improving Patrick Engels took the B Flight.

Near pins winners were Richie Neville, Tony Duthie, Jorma and Ning Neal.

A Flight

1st Richie Neville (11)  37pts

2nd Scott Dobbin (0) 33pts

3rd Pier Cere (11) 29pts

B Flight

1st Patrick Engells (21) 35pts

2nd Harvey Samuels (18) 33pts

3rd Erich Sielek (20) 31pts
