What happened to the ‘A’ nine greens? At our last visit, we commented on how good they were and that the ‘B’ nine greens were very patchy. Now the ‘B nine seems to be under repair and the ‘A’ nine greens have gone downhill, with brown areas, some holes, and sanded. What a shame. Let’s hope the greenkeeper can get them back the way we like them, soon.

That was from our report on August 10. The Greenkeeper must have found a magic elixir because these greens, and the recently renovated ‘C’ nine greens, were in beautiful condition. All were running smoothly and truly, albeit just a tad slower than we expected, a wonderful job by whoever is responsible.
The rest of the two nines we played are also in terrific condition, with the well grassed fairways cut to have the ball sit up nicely. The rough is a bit thick and not easy to find the ball or to play from. It is supposed to be a penalty, after all.
The weather was fine and, for the first nine, very hot and no breeze. By the next nine, clouds were darkening and that breeze that means rain is coming, started to gain strength.
However, all thirteen players finished the round dry, but we drove through heavy rain on the way back to Pattaya.
Last Monday, Wayne Peppernell scored 42 points for a win. Today, it was the turn of his regular playing partner, Bill Copeland, to go one better and score 43 points here at Pattana. His form has been down a little lately, but Bill has bounced back into the winners’ circle.
Glen Elsworth, in his penultimate game before heading to the UK, had his best round for a while, scoring 39 points for second spot. The ‘you tube’ golf lessons are working for sure.
Ever consistent George Mueller took third place, to his surprise, with a solid 36 points, which he thought would not be enough.

We have had a great week of golf, and been spoiled with two consecutive golf courses in near perfect condition, just for us?
