Santa was a couple of days late but delivered Henry O’Brien’s present today. Inside the goody bag was a marvelous 46 points. Kevin Moraghan was second on 40 and it must have felt like a lump of coal. Alan Thomas and Graham Johnson were third and fourth respectively.
Wednesday, Dec. 29, Greenwood – Medal
1st Roger Cross (23) net 69
2nd Steve Mulberrry (11) net 72
3rd Grant Montgomery (8) net 72
4th Ernie McInnerney (15) net 73
5th Henry O’Brien (15) net 74
Roger Cross was our Monthly Medal winner with a net 69. He managed to remain patient and outlast the field and the 30 minute delay on the first tee. The greens were very slick on the C & B combo.
Steve Mulberry was second on net 72, beating Grant Montgomery on count-back. Ernie McInnerney was fourth with net 73 and Henry O’Brien forgot his Christmas present but still managed a net 74.
Keith Worboys took the near pin.
Thursday, Dec. 30, Khao Kheow – Stableford
1st Graham Johnson (7) 34pts
2nd Nick Handscombe (8) 31pts
3rd Brad Sproxton (12) 29pts
We had a smaller group today and even smaller scoring. Fast greens and a stiff breeze may have contributed to the outcome for most.
Graham Johnson took the frame with 34 points. Nick Handscombe went out in 10 but came back in 21 to place second and Brad Sproxton 3-putted his way into third. Happy Holiday’s and best wishes from The Golf Club for 2011.
