Monday, June 5, Burapha – Stableford

Three groups made their way to Burapha for our regular weekly tournament.  We gave a warm welcome to Mark Woodhouse, visiting us for the first time from Australia on his way to Hua Hin where he is defending the Golf Asia Masters tournament, which he won last year.  Good luck Mark!

As to the comp today, in third place came Jim Bell with 33 points, running second was the aforementioned Mark Woodhouse with 34 but leading the pack was the voucher-man Peter Nixon with 37.  There were no ‘2’s.

Tuesday, June 6, Pattana – Matchplay

Following a rained out matchplay attempt against TPL two weeks ago, we had our rematch at Pattana again on 6 June.  Spirits were high and this time around there were a lot more players that participated – all of 52 in fact!

As it was, the rain came again and a couple of groups thought it a good opportunity to pack it in.  For the rest, we weren’t going to let a bit of rain stop us and after a bit more than an hour’s delay, we continued to battle it out.

On the losing end this time, Mickey Beresford reluctantly handed over the trophy to Andre from the Outback, having lost 7½ vs 5½.  Mickey promised revenge and we looked forward to it and we’ll have a rematch again, that’s for sure!
