PSC Golf from Mulligans Lakeside
Tuesday, May 22, Emerald – Stableford
Tuesday was a visit to Emerald, down Ban Chang way. The course, recently cored & sanded on the front 9 is well on the way to normal condition, with the back 9 to be done in the near future. It was hot though, and it was Owen Walkley (11), in a cart coincidentally, who dealt best with the conditions to come out on top with a solid 37 points. Jim Federspiel (17) showed a return to some form, to sign for 36 points, sufficient to gather the second spot spoils.
Near pins were shared around between Jonathan, Jeff & Owen.
Thursday, May 24, Khao Kheow – Stableford
Khao Kheow A & B was the allotted task for Thursday, with several tees well forward as the course does maintenance work on the back tees. The group approached the round with some trepidation following several negative reports on the condition of the course. No need though, as the course was in good order, although the rough was penal, the fairways & greens were in good order (IMO).
Jeff Wylie (5) certainly showed his liking for the course as he went around in par 72 for a strong 41 points, relegating Tuesday’s winner Owen (11) to second with 33 points.
Jeff picked up 2 near pins, with Stan getting the Island hole pin & Banglamung Boys Home being a beneficiary on the other.
