Six lawn bowlers from Pattaya have returned after successfully competing in international competitions in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China.
The three men, Dennis Mijnheimer, Frank de Vries and Dan Christensen, all resident in Pattaya, together with Ralph de Rooij who flew in from Holland to join them, won the gold medals in Hong Kong in a competition which involved 72 four-man teams.
The ladies, Thong Oomen, Orawan Sodok and Pinthong Pearce from Pattaya, and Songsin Tsao from Bangkok, won silver medals at both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen competitions which involved 38 ladies teams.

The achievements of both teams are remarkable bearing in mind the very limited lawn bowling facilities that are available in Thailand.
The Pattaya bowlers regularly play at both The Retreat and Coco Club bowling facilities.
