Pattaya City Football Club produced a fine performance last weekend to beat Bangkok FC in the Bangkok Casuals League on goalkeeper Uchi’s final game for the Pattaya club.  Bangkok FC were hit with goals from the terrible twin combination of Tommy Rooney (1) and Paulo Rooney (3).

City got off to a flying start when Worsel Gummage lookalike Tommy scored his first ever goal for City with a beauty that hit the top corner of the net from 18 yards out.  Things got even better for Pattaya when the more handsome sibling, Paulo, ran through and slotted home thanks to a great through ball from Shane.

Pattaya were now dominant and Paulo cemented their superiority with an outstanding left foot strike from 25 yards to make it 3-0 after 30 mins.  It looked like game over until Pattaya started to wobble in the last 10 mins of the 1st half and conceded a goal deep into stoppage time.

Following the break, Pattaya again took control but suffered a moment of madness when Chinese goalkeeper Uchi nearly committed Hari Kari and chopped down Bangkok’s main striker.  All the Bangkok players and supporters were baying for blood and were unhappy when just a yellow card was shown.  Then, with 10 mins left, Bangkok scored again to play on the nerves of Pattaya’s follically-challenged manager Terry Wilcox.

They needn’t have worried on the bench though, as Paulo completed his hat trick after following up a thunderbolt from Chris just 2 minutes from time to confirm the win for Pattaya.  It was a marvelous team performance and moved City into mid table.

Pattaya City would like to thank Uchi for all his wonderful support of the club and wish him well on his move to Singapore.
