The last day of the Lewiinski’s Open and all to play for and it could not have been closer.

On the day itself and winning the B Flight was Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake with 41 points. Gerry Hughes and Andrei Fortis both returned 38 points each, with the luck of the Irish holding up for Gerry to leave Andre on the last step of the podium.
A Flight saw Michel Deletraz take top spot with 39 points while Peter LeNoury and Colin Hopkins were tied on 35 points, with the scales of justice tipping in Peter’s favour.
Plate winner Andre Fortis.
The Open was won by Aussie star Paul Bray with a four day total of net 286. Second overall was Irishman Dominic Downey with 287 net and third was Dominic’s good mate Connie Walsh with a net 297.
Andre Fortis was the winner of the Plate with a two day total of 74 points, second was Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw with 72 and Joe Carroll closed the prize list with a score of 70. After the presentation Paul thanked everybody who participated and also the staff for a tremendous buffet.
Monday, March 7, Pleasant Valley – Stableford

Playing golf at Pleasant Valley is always a pleasure and today was no exception. The format as always was stable ford and it was the Lewiinski’s newly crowned champion Paul Bray who took full advantage of the conditions to garner the man of the match honours with a fine 39 points.
Irishman Christy ‘good’ Knight took the second step on the podium with a steady38 points, leaving Lawrence McBride to fill the third spot with 35. Tom Killoran rounded out the flight after gaining a count back decision over the unlucky Pat McKeon, leaving Pat at sea level and pot less.
Wednesday, March 9, Silky Oak

The man of the match was clearly Shane Heaney with a rock solid B Flight winning total of 38 points, Shane was four clear of Ken Hole and a further shot clear off Bernard Green.
In A Flight it was low handicapper Mark Riley who just carried on where he left off playing in the Lewiinski Open, sweeping the ball imperiously off the tea and striking the second shot into the heart of the green, but he still needed the aid of a count back decision to beat the unlucky Irishman John Feehan, both tied on even par rounds. Lawrence McBride closed the flight with a fair 35 points.
Friday, March 11, Khao Kheow – 4-Ball Better Ball
1st Paul Bray & Ken Hole 45pts
2nd Chris Barrett & Jim Elphick 44pts
3rd Merle Humphries & John Harrison 43pts
Khao Kheow was the choice for today’s 4-man better ball comp. The course as always was in fine condition and the weather was mad hot and very humid, which made it tough going for the lads.
The winners with a fine 45 points were man of the week Paul Bray and his playing partner Ken Hole. Jimmy ‘two shots’ Elphick and Chris Barrett, who between them posted a very good 44 points, took second spot on the podium and third was settled on a count back between the configurations of Merle Humphries/John Harrison and Kevin Rogers/Mike Jefferies, both with 43 points and with the former pair of John and Merle just edging it.
After the presentations Lewiinski’s kindly put on pizza and snacks for the lads.
