4th Pat Carty (28) net 72
5th Lyle Blaw (12) net 73
2’s: Joe McArdle and Digby Hillier
We were lucky with the weather again today for our monthly medal at Green Valley. Our first few groups got finished before the rain came and even though our last few got a little we all got finished. Actually our best score by far came out of the last group which got the most rain.

Paul Pavloff went round in one over par gross to score a net 66 and win by five shots. This was a great score on a course which was playing long due to the wet fairways. Kevin Blake took second place with a net 71, beating Donal McGuigan on a count-back.
After winning the previous Sunday, Pat Carty had to settle for the fourth place today with a net 72 and we then had two players on 73s, with Lyle Blaw edging the count-back over Andy Featherstone.
Tuesday, October 10, Eastern Star – Stableford
We had a good turnout of 16 players so 2 divisions set at 5-16 & 17+. Once again Eastern Star was the winner with the course playing every bit of its 6575 yards from the white tees. No run at all on a course that was in fairly good condition so ‘lift clean & place’ was the order for the day.
The best score was in Div 1, with Andy Featherstone (5) shooting a very respectful 35 points. Second place went to Bernie Stafford (16) on 33 points and third to Marc Brunner (9) with 30.
Div 2 was a low points scoring day with Peter Henshaw (22) in first place with 28 points, second going to Joe McArdle(17) on 25 and third spot filled by Pat Carty (28) with 24.
Andy Featherstone added to his winning by have not one but two ‘2’s to take the complete pot.
Thursday, October 12, Burapha – Stableford
Blue Tees
1st Andy Featherstone (5) 33pts
2nd Kevin Blake (7) 32pts
White Tees
1st John Fenwick (20) 34pts
2nd Russell Gilroy (17) 34pts
3rd PatCarty (28) 32pts
4th Paddy Naughton (18) 30pts
We were unfortunate here today at Burapha to be behind an extremely slow three-ball group who despite being warned by the Marshall still took over four and a half hours to go round. Because of them we all got caught by the rain on the last few holes and as Burapha sounded the horn to stop play because of the lightning and some of our groups had to wait for clearance to resume, it meant a very long day for most of us.
We did two flights today, one off the blue tees and one off the white. Once again Andy Featherstone came out the victor off the blues with thirty three points. Kevin Blake was second here with thirty two and Marc Brunner had the only ‘2’ of the day of either set of tees.
John Fenwick was the winner off the whites with thirty four points. Russell Gilroy also had thirty four but he lost the count-back and had to settle for second. Pat Carty took the third place with thirty two points. Paddy Naughton had just arrived from Ireland but settled in quickly and took the fourth and last place with thirty points.
