IPGC Golf from the Tara Court Golf Group

Sunday, Sept. 25, Green Valley – Stableford

We were lucky with the weather again here today at Green Valley.  A few times it looked very bad but we got around without any rain.

Paul Pavloff.

Although the course was soft underfoot and playing long we still had one very good score.  Paul Pavloff was playing his last game for this trip and he finished off in style, being a clear winner with forty points, a gross seventy four, and just two over par.  Actually he was one under after sixteen holes but dropped three shots on the last two holes.  But still, it was great golf.

Joe McArdle was the only other player to play to his handicap and took second place with thirty six points.  Allan Parker played his usual steady golf and took the third place on the count back with thirty five points.  Trevor Oliver played his first ever game with us today and he took the fourth place as he also had thirty five but lost the count back to Allan.

Geoff King had the only ‘2’ of the day and scooped the pot.

1st Paul Pavloff (6) 40pts

2nd Joe McArdle (14) 36pts

3rd Allan Parker (8) 35pts

4th Trevor Oliver (12) 35pts

Tuesday, Sept. 27, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

We escaped the rain again at Mountain Shadow where we were joined by our friends from the PFGS.  The course was very quiet and in excellent condition although the greens were a bit slower than usual.

Ted Morris was really on fire on the front nine where he had twenty one points and although he let it slip a little bit on the back he still did enough to be a clear winner with thirty seven points, which also included a ‘2’.

In second place was our usual steady golfer, Russell Gilroy with thirty four points and Joe McArdle took the third and last place with thirty one.

2nd Russell Gilroy (16) 34pts

3rd Joe McArdle (14) 31pts

Thursday, Sept. 29, Burapha – Stableford

Today we all decided to play off the blue tees, which might have been a mistake for some of our golfers as the A and B course is 6,780 yards long and today it was playing its full length.  While the fairways were dry they were soft with no run on the ball, which made it a bit of a struggle for some.

Mark Lang.

For one of our group it wasn’t a problem however as Mark Lang went round in two over par to score thirty eight points off his four handicap, which was a great score off those tees and made him a clear winner.  The only other player to play to his handicap was Joe McArdle who came second with thirty six points.

John Batty took the third and last place with thirty two and Serge Stratten had the only ‘2’ of the day.

1st Mark Lang (4) 38pts

2nd Joe McArdle (14) 36pts

3rd Jon Batty (7) 32pts
