Sunday, March 25, Silky Oak – Stableford
1st Peter LeNoury (17) 42pts
2nd Mark Walters (15) 39pts
3rd Tom Gorey (18) 39pts
4th Peter Taylor (13) 38pts
A fair sized field took on the formidable Silky Oak instead of our regular Sunday bash at Green Valley. The course was not in its usual good condition due to the greens being repaired after the removal of unwanted weeds, which made it very tough with the putter. That being said, some extremely good scores were recorded and the best of the day came from Peter ‘the right honorable’ LeNoury with a splendid 42 points.
Peter was joined on the podium by Mark Walters and Irishman Tom Gorey, both with 39 points and a count-back dictated that they climb the podium in that order. Peter Taylor closed the flight with a half share of the ‘2’s pot, the other half going to Billy ‘the hat’ Eyles.
Tuesday, March 20, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Steve Mann (14) 43pts
2nd Stuart James (21) 39pts
3rd Pat Regan (15) 38pts
4th Peter Terry (19) 35pts
It was a small but spirited field that took to Green Valley to play our mid-week stableford comp. Steve Mann played it best as he returned an excellent 43 points for the man of the match honours. Steve was four strokes clear of Stuart James while Co. Dublin’s on form Pat Regan took the third step on the podium with a steady 38 points. This left Peter Terry to close the flight with 35 points.
