Phayahong from Buri Ram is Thailand’s first female K-1 Champion

Chanthakan whose nickname is Nong Pum won K-1 Women’s Atomweight Championship with the weight limit of 45 kilograms in the K-1 World Grand Prix at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on June 25.

Chanthakan Manoban also known in her boxer name as Phayahong Ayothayafightgym from Buri Ram province has become Thailand’s first woman K-1 kickboxing champion.

Chanthakan whose nickname is Nong Pum won K-1 Women’s Atomweight Championship with the weight limit of 45 kilograms in the K-1 World Grand Prix at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on June 25. She defeated Japan’s Sugawara Miyuu 2-1 after four rounds.



Chanthakan is a native of Buri Ram and a cousin of Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban of the world-renowned South Korean girl group Blackpink.

She started boxing when she was nine years old. At present, she is a student at the Faculty of Education of Kasetsart University.



She is also famous for her beautiful pre-fight dance ritual. She won an honorary award for her Muay Thai traditional dance ritual in 2020. (TNA)
