Pattaya Country Club members and friends played their usual Christmas fun golf game on Dec. 24 where the caddies are asked to putt-out on the greens for the players! The event began some years ago when the then organizer, the late Barry Chadbourn, came up with the idea to which the management at PCC approved and it has continued each year since.
This year the current organiser Pottsy (Campbell Potts) made the necessary arrangements with PCC that included the caddies joining the golfers for some F & B after the round in the excellent new clubhouse, and on arrival at the course we were greeted by the clubhouse staff wearing antlers!

18 golfers and their caddies were ready for our usual 8 a.m. start and the fun began on the first tee with much bantering from the players and with some of the caddies who had not taken part in this event before wondering what it was all about. They soon found out on the first green!
Shortly after the game was over the golfers went to the clubhouse to await the caddies and the management had closed off the back part of the restaurant and set up one big table for all 36 to sit together and allocated a number of staff that provided excellent service. Whilst the caddies prepared themselves the golfers ate and drank to await their arrival.
Some 45 minutes later they arrived on mass and what a picture they looked as they joined their golfing partners – they were provided with food and drink and the fun continued. Sometime later Pottsy called order and announced the winners – ‘the caddies’ who were all rewarded depending on their number of putts.
Pottsy and the group expressed their appreciation to PCC for again agreeing to this somewhat unusual competition and for allowing the caddies into the clubhouse.
