Tuesday, July 4, Plutaluang – Stableford
Tuesday we went to Plutaluang and played the North and West courses, which were in reasonable shape but the greens were very slow.
We had a thrilling game between Paddy Devereux and Willem Lasonder and the decision would fall on the last hole. Paddy had the better nerves and took the day’s honours with 36 stable ford points while Willem was second with 34, beating Paul Davies on count back.
The near pins went to Paddy Devereux, Willem Lasonder and David Lusha.
Thursday, July 6, Bangpakong
We took a trip up the motorway to Bangpakong on Thursday. The course was not in the excellent condition we normally expect here and the fairways were very wet because of the rain the night before. The bunkers were also tough and full of water while there was a lot of maintenance going on around the course.
Today was a contest between Jonathan Pratt and Paddy Devereux that again went down to the last hole. Jonathan had his nerves under control and won it to take victory with a whopping 43 points while Paddy had to settle for second with 42.
