We had a light week for golf at TGC as Monday was our only comp. Friday was the day for the Pattaya Sports Club Monthly Members comp, so please see their write-up for the results. This week’s write-up will be like many of the girls in this town, short and sweet.
As you are all aware, we usually have Green Valley for our Monday venue, but today she was closed for the big Singha tournament and Khun Nirand put us over on St. Andrews, which was a great gesture. We had a good turnout for the event and pretty good weather as well. The course was in fine condition and the greens rolled true, even though they had been sanded just 10 days before.
It was a tight field today and all 5 winners were within 3 shots of each other. Paul “Take it Easy” Greenaway shot his handicap and shared third place with Darren Zuidema while Wayne Cottenelle and visiting Scotsman Bob Mulholland from Glasgow Gailes G.C. shared second. But there was only one outright winner today, TGC’s very own John Emmerson who piloted his way to first place, a podium spot he has not occupied for quite some time due to back problems. Great comeback Johnny! That new bike riding routine is doing you a world of good.
