The Thailand Super Series Racing League got underway at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram on May 19-22. Temperatures were in the high 40’s all weekend, with the action on the track proving to be just as hot.

Starting from 8th place on the grid in Race 1 after suffering a loss of power in qualifying, Pattaya based driver Thomas Raldorf of the TR Motorsport racing team battled his way through the field and managed to reach fourth place before being overtaken on the final corner and having to settle for fifth at the chequered flag.

The following day in Race 2, with the top five from the previous race starting in reverse order and Raldorf sitting on pole, the TR Motorsport racer held off a strong challenge of three other cars going into the first corner and powered up the main straight still in the lead.

The lead would be relinquished however on lap 2 as the second placed Honda Jazz nipped through on the inside to relegate Raldorf down to second position on the track. Raldorf fought back fiercely and tried to retake the lead on the outside of turn 3 but he came into contact with the Jazz and was forced onto the grass, dropping him back into fifth place. Undaunted by this setback Raldorf regrouped and was able to fight his way back up to third position and a place on the podium by the end of the race.

The TR Motorsport team will next be in action at the Bira International Circuit in Pattaya for the TOYO3K series on June 3-5.
