Two divisions out with the cut 12-17 and 18+ and Paul Young returned the best score of the day, winning division 1 with 34 points.  Bob Poole came in second on 30 and Paul Butler took third with 27 points.

Rod Howett, playing off the red tees, won division 2 with 33 points and two behind in second place was Frank Grainger.  In his last game with us before his return to Down Under, Bruce Gardner claimed third with 30 points.

In the near pins Paul Young was the only winner in division 1 and in division 2, Leo Adam and Frank Grainger both took home prizes.  There are no ‘2’s in either division.

Wednesday, Sept. 6, Treasure Hill – Stableford

It was the yellow tees again today as the whites at around 6,720 yards are too long for the majority of our players.

There were some low scores returned today with Tom Novak winning division 2 with 28 points, beating Steve Cohen on a 16/15 back-nine count back and Kenny Cleckner taking third on 24, edging Alan Bissell and Frank Grainger on another count back.

Paul Butler topped the scoring with 35 points to win division 1 and in second place six points behind was Nik Evans who beat Per Forsberg on count back over the last two holes.

The ‘2’s were wiped out today when Geoff Randall’s nine-iron shot on the 6th hole just cleared the bunker in front of the green, turned 90 degrees and rolled into the hole for his first ever hole in one.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler, Ray Daws and Terry Madsen, and (Div 2) Tom Novak, David Phillips and Geoff Randall.

Friday, Sept. 8, Eastern Star – Stableford

A 12-17 cut again in the top flight at Eastern Star and there were two 38’s returned in both divisions.  Paul Butler won division 1 with that score as Per Forsberg took second on 37 and Mikael Andersson was third with 31.

Rod Howett was the other player to score 38 and was the winner in division 2, with Frank Kelly in second place on 34 and Juergen Heinzius beating Frank Grainger for third on an 18/14 back-nine count back after they both shot 31 points.

Paul Butler, Per Forsberg (2), Paul Young Les Smith all had a share of the ‘2’s money today.
