Mountain shadow was the challenge on Monday and we teed off 30 minutes earlier than scheduled under sunny skies and with a delightful breeze.
The course was in good condition but if you happened to stray off the fairway it could be a bit of a lottery.

We made it around in just under 4 hours and 30 minutes as the course was busy ahead with early starters. Back in the clubhouse welcomes went out to Rob and Karen Brown from Scotland, Richard and Carole Kubicki from Cyprus, Jesper Rasmussen from Denmark and we also said goodbyes to Svend and Susan Gaarde, back to Denmark for the holidays and a 2 month tour of South America, and Uwe Zickermann, heading back to Germany.
We had two flights today with the cut made at handicap 20 and the full monty of pins.
Brian Gabe took the A Flight with the best score of the day, 39 points, to finish two ahead of john davis in second while Uwe nicked third on count back from Jesper Rasmussen in fourth, both with 36 points each.
Jack Robertson came in with 37 points to win the B Flight and Elias Magnusson finished second with 36 as Dave Richardson and Hugh O’Donnell filled the minor places.
Thursday, Dec. 19, Bangpakong – Stableford

We made a trip to our favorite course, Bangpakong, on Thursday and we found the layout to be in just about the best condition of any venue around here. The course was fairly busy but we still managed to get around in approx. 4 hours 15 mins.

Back in the clubhouse welcomes went out to Lawrence Lee from Hawaii and Oddur Olafsson from Iceland.
We had enough players for two flights once again with the cut made at handicap 20 and below.
Jesper Rasmussen won the A Flight with a stupendous 41 points to finish a couple up on Brian Gabe in second while Oddur Olafsson and Rob Brown completed the podium in third and fourth respectively.
The oldest golfer in our group, Hugh O’Donnell, won the B Flight with a fine 40 points and Dave Richardson took second on 38, Daryl Evans third with 36 and Carole Kubicki fourth on 35 after edging out Elias Magnusson on count back.
