Monday, August 25, Plutaluang – Stableford

A small contingency were playing in Hua Hin this week so the numbers were down a bit for all our outings here at home.

We normally alternate the four nines at Navy but upon booking a few months ago the management was not sure which nine would be closed, so we left it to our caddies to arrange the courses and upon arrival the East was shut and we were allocated the North and West nines, which everyone was happy about.

Driving towards the course the clouds were looking threatening and after we had played six holes the skies opened with horrendous rain for 15 to 20 minutes.  When it had stopped we resumed playing without the need to adopt ‘pick, clean and place.’

The cut today was 10-19 and 20+ in division 2 and still in form Chris Reed topped the second division with 39 points.  Bryan Prisetley came in second a whole 12 points behind and in third place (15 points behind) was Burnie Sinclair.

Barney Sheedy won the honours in division 1 with 34 points ahead of Ted Lodge, who took second place on count back over Lindsay Phillips after the both came in with 32 points each.

Mike Chatt and Terry Madsen claimed the near pins in division 1 and Eiichi Matsumoto and Chris Reed cleaned up in division 2.

We said bon voyage to Ted Lodge today, see you soon Ted.

Wednesday, August 27, The Emerald – Stableford

Only one division out today and this was our first visit for a couple of months to Emerald due to the renovation on the course, but it has improved and there were no moans.

Tom Novak, playing off 21, won the day with 38 points, with Chris Reed taking second on 35 and Alan Hansen third with 34.

There we no ‘2’s in either division.

Friday, August 29, Eastern Star – Stableford

In the second division, 35 points was enough for Tom Novak to win again, with the organizer in second place two points behind and Chris Reed in third on 32.

There were no ‘2’s in the top division but four came in division 2, from Glyn Evans on the 3rd, Chris Reed and Frank Kelly on the 6th and Miss Nut from 6ft away on the 17th.
