Tuesday, Sept. 19, Pleasant Valley – Stableford
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Pleasant Valley and it was a nice sunny day. The course looked very good from the clubhouse but the front-nine was much better than the back side where the bunkers were in bad condition.
The battle for the top spot was exciting with Brett Gale and Stan Rees playing well and going head to head. They ended up in a tie on 39 points but Stan edged it on a count-back over the last 6 holes. In third place juts one point behind was Willem Lasonder.
The near pins went to Dave Smith, Willem Lasonder and Chris Dempsey.
Thursday, Sept. 21, Treasure Hill – Stableford
Thursday saw a visit to Treasure Hill, which always provides a tough challenge with trees on the fairways and the type of grass on some holes.
Jonathan Pratt and Willem Lasonder were keeping up with each other until the last hole, at which point Jonathan kept his cool best and won with 35 to finish two up on Willem on 33.
Near pin prizes were claimed by Jonathan Pratt (2) and Paddy Devereux.
