Tuesday, Dec. 26, Eastern Star – Stableford
In the last week of 2017 we played 2 interesting courses. On Tuesday we went to Eastern Star and were afraid of a wet day after all the rain the previous night, but fortunately it kept dry and cool. The course was still in good condition after all the rain and we had a nice game but looking at the results we can see that the course was not easy to play.
Stan Rees was the most consistent and won with 35 stableford points. In second was Willem Lasonder with 32 points and third went to Paul Davies with 31.
The near pins went to Paddy Devereux and Willem Lasonder.
Thursday, Dec. 28, Crystal Bay – Stableford
Crystal Bay was our venue for Thursday and we played the B & C course. Normally this course is in reasonable condition but today it was not very good, perhaps due to all the rain in the days before. There were many wet areas on the course that were not playable but we had nice weather and cool temperatures.
Bob Edwards was the most consistent today and won with 33 points, with Paddy Devereux second on 31.
The near pins were claimed by Stan Rees and Bob Edwards.
