Monday, August 24, Bangpakong – Stableford

Bangpakong Riverside G.C. was Monday’s challenge and we teed-off at our allotted time under partly cloudy skies and with a stiff breeze which blew all day. The course was in fine condition with quick greens.

Back in the clubhouse after a round of under 4 hours, a welcome went out to Doug Maiko, Franco Moretti and a farewell to Gordon Clegg and Walter Baechli, the latter off for a biking trip to the great American Pacific northwest.
We had one flight and 2 pins today to fight for today and Dave Richardson was the overall winner with a fine 39 points. Coming in a distant second was Doug Maiko with 34 points and Nigel Perry and Franco Morretti took third and fourth respectively.
Walter Baechli took the only near pin prize won on the day.
Thursday, August 27, Plutaluang N & W – Stableford

Thursday saw the group take a trip to Plutaluang where they found the course to be in good condition and fairly quick greens, even though a sign in the clubhouse warned of slow greens because of lack of water. Mandatory carts are required on N & W nines on Fridays through Sundays for some unknown reason.
Back in the clubhouse after a round of 4 hours and 20 minutes the winner was declared to be Franco Morretti with 35 points, one ahead of Mark West in second while and Dave Richardson was two further back in third.
