Once again this course took its toll as in the wet and windy conditions everybody struggled to find their form, but nobody did as you can see by the scores posted.

First place was taken by Ken Meek with a miserly 25 points after a three-way back nine count-back while the near pins were won by Ning Neal and George Hayes.

1st Ken Meek (24) 25pts

2nd George Hayes (21) 25pts

3rd Nicky Clow (28) 25pts

Wednesday, June 15, Green Valley – Stableford

Unfortunately today’s golf was overshadowed by the theft of one of our golfer’s wallet from his golf bag.  So a word of caution to all you golfers out there, do not leave valuables in your golf bag!

Friday’s winner at Greenwood, Scott Dobbins. Friday’s winner at Greenwood, Scott Dobbins.

On to the golf the course which was in good nick and the weather was ideal for golf with just a light breeze.  So it was the opposite to Monday which reflected in the scores as Frank Riley tamed the course with a massive six under par total, his third sub-par round since arriving on our shores two weeks ago.  His playing partner George Hayes also had a great round of three under.

Near pins went to Ning Neal, Brain Neal, Danny Larson and Dick Hobson.

1st Frank Riley (18) 42pts

2nd George Hayes (21) 39pts

3rd Tony Duthie (20) 36pts

4th Dick Hobson (24) 35pts

Friday, June 17, Greenwood – Stableford

Again we had amazing good luck with the weather as it was absolutely pouring down for the whole trip here.  We decided to have a cup of coffee in the club house and give it half an hour to see if it stopped, and sure enough after 25 minutes it ceased.  So we teed off playing winter rules.

Scott Dobbins, playing of scratch, was the only player to cope with the very difficult conditions, having two bogies and two birdies in his round of 36 points.  Near pins went to John Coetzee, Dave Done (2) and Dick Hobson.

1st Scott Dobbins (0) 36pts

2nd John Hadden (25) 31pts

3rd Dick Hobson (24) 30pts
