Wednesday, Nov. 17, Bangpakong – Stableford

A group of twenty players split into two flights took the trip north to Bangpakong to tackle this testing course.

Phil Cawse (11) had a day to remember, returning a superb 41 points to win the A Flight by six from Jeff North (9) and Phonsie McGahan (6) who both finished on 35 points to take second and third places in that order.

The B Flight scores were somewhat lower with Colin Gregg (27) taking the win with 32 points ahead of Bruce Tollitt (19) and Greg Ritchie (19) who had to be separated by count-back after they both returned with 31 points – Bruce getting the verdict.

Damien Trant, Phil Sharple and Phonsie McGahan all collected ‘2’s to share the pot.

Friday, Nov. 19, Green Valley – Stableford

A large posse of twenty seven took on Green Valley on Friday separated once more into two flights.

The scores were generally excellent and Jeff North had the best of the bunch with an A Flight winning 42 points off his 9 H/cap.  Phonsie McGahan (6) finished second on 37 points and Ted Gardner (8) and Helmut Hebstreit (12) took third and fourth respectively on 36 points after undergoing the count-back procedure.

Ben Findon (20) was the top man in the second flight with his 39 points ahead of Keith Johnson (22) and Les Hall (18) who both returned level par 36’s, with Keith getting the count-back nod.  Bernard Channing (21) meanwhile took fourth spot on 35.

Ben Findon, Les Hall, Helmut Hebstreit, Bill Collis, Bruce Tollitt and Phonsie McGahan split the ‘2’s pot.
