Sattahip Naval Base mobilizes for 2-week sports competition

The entire Sattahip Naval Base mobilized for a two-week sports competition aimed at building unity among troops.

Base deputy commander Rear Adm. Supong Sirisonthu kicked off the Aug. 21-Sept. 4 games, which pitted four teams against each other in billiards, snooker, badminton, football, futsal, petanque, volleyball and “navy sports.”

Supong said the competition was aimed at promoting good health and building harmony among departments.  He urged participates to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and to learn to win and lose gracefully.

The first team is comprised of the navy’s Special Task Unit, Property Department, Communications Station, prison unit, and Sattahip Navy Welfare Section.

The second team is composed of the Factory Department, and Building Maintenance.

The third squad is comprised of the Construction and Development Department.

And the final team is composed of Apaporn Kiattiwong Hospital, Land Transport  Engineering, Safety, and 2nd Navy Military Police Battalion.
