Police Colonel Kumphol Leelaprapaporn – the commissioner of police for Huay Yai – addressed the players at Coco Club last weekend prior to the start of a month’s league between the top 20 players currently in Thailand.

Once the games were under way it was clear we were in for a great day’s bowls and most matches went the time limit of 2 hours 15 mins or 18 ends.  Only just, but probably the best result was made by ladies champion Lek paired with Thanom, who got off to a flying 5-0 start before beating the men’s champion Ing partnered with Boy from Bangkok by a score of 23-3.

The best recovery was from Ian (Mr. Reliable) and Dave (the Pro) who rolled back the years and a 10-2 deficit after 5 ends to beat Bus and Go 18-16.  The highest score was from Coco’s Sue and Pukky with a 55-5 victory over Hua Hin Ladies.
