Monday, May 18, Pattana – Stableford

After a hectic time in Hua Hin the previous week there were quite a few players giving it a miss today but we just had enough for two divisions.  The A course was being refurbished and it shut till midday so we started on the B with the C to follow.

Kari Aarnio shot the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 38 points while Roger DeJongh was second with 30.

In division 1 Chris Voller won with 35 points and John Walsh beat Tim Hake 12/11 on the back nine for second spot after they both came in with 28 points each.

Chris Voller got two nearest the pins and one birdie ‘2’ in division 1 while in division 2 James Tognela took the nearest the pin on C7 and there were no ‘2’s, so a rollover to Plutaluang.

Wednesday, May 20, Plutaluang – Stableford

As we alternate the nines here each visit we were off the East and South courses today and the cut was made at 8-19 and 20+ in the two divisions.  It was another blistering hot day and the majority chose to take buggies due to a few hilly climbs on these two nines.  It was tough test out there with some wicked pin placements on both courses.

Pete Sumner recorded the best score of the day to win division 1 with 36 points.  Terry Madsen came in second one point behind and Chris Voller was third with 34.

Louis Wong topped division 2 standings with 33 points, one ahead of Steve Ironside in second and Roger DeJongh took third with 30 points.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Tim Hake, Terry Madsen and Pete Sumner (2), and (Div 2) Eiichi Matsumoto (3) and Louis Wong.

Tim Hake and Chris Voller birdied S4 to split the ‘2’s in division 1 and yet again there were none in the second flight.

Friday, May 22, Eastern Star – Stableford

What a difference in the weather today from our last two rounds this week.  A cool breeze kept the temperatures in check but also affected the ball flight on almost every hole and made it a tough test out there, and not one person got onto the green with their tee shot on the par-3 thirteenth.

Thirty-five points was the best score returned today, coming from Joe Kubon to win division 2 by a single point from James Tognela in second and Roger DeJongh beat the organizer 19/18 on count back for third after they both came in with 31 points each.

Chris Voller won division 1 again, with Iain Walsh in second place on 34 and Fran Kelly third with 32 points.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Tim Hake, Iain Speirs and Chris Voller, and (Div 2) Richard Kings, Lars Svensson and Iain Walsh.

There were no ‘2’s recorded in either division today.
