Monday, April 6, Eastern Star – Stableford

It was a public holiday today and we were quoted a wrong green fee pricing so at the last minute we canceled our booking at Pattaya Country Club and switched to Eastern Star.

There were only two divisions out today and Dennis Scougall, in his last game with us this trip, won division 1 (8-17) with 36 points, beating Frank Kelly and Bob Poole on a 23/18/17 back nine count back.

Max Wilson, also in his last game today, topped the division 2 standings with 33 points, two ahead of Jeff Greer in second and third place went to Burnie Sinclair who pipped Bruce Gardner 16/13 on the back nine after they both scored 29 points each. Near pins went to (Div 1) Dennis Scougall (2) and Toni Stoltsen, and (Div 2) Bruce Gardner, Bob Poole, Guy Russell and Iain Walsh.

Yet again no two’s in division 1 but Bob Poole was a happy chappy after a ‘2’ on the tough par 6 to scoop the division 2 pot.

Wednesday, April 9, Pattavia – Stableford

Only one division out today, with the numbers dwindling each game, and Chris Voller returned the top score of 40 points to win the day.  Tom Novak came in second on 38 points and Bob Poole took third with 34.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Chris Voller, and (Div 2) Bruce Gardner and Tom Novak.

There were no ‘2’s and the rollover will be played for at Pattana on April 20.

Friday, April 10, Eastern Star – Stableford

The second week of cored greens here with a minimal green fee but a great improvement to the previous Monday’s game on this course.

There were seven groups out today with the same cut as Monday and Terry Madsen topped division 1 with 35 points.  There were two players on 34 points fighting for second place, and Frank Kelly beat Arthur Hancock 12/11 on the back nine to take the runner-up spot.

Miss Nut won division 2 after beating Paul Hartley 20/13 on the back nine, both coming in with 33 points each while the organiser placed third on 32.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Karl Flood (2), Arthur Hancock and Frank Kelly, and (Div 2) John Kelly.

Arthur Hancock birdied the 6th and Frank Kelly the 3rd to split the ‘2’s pot in division 1 and there was another rollover in division 2.
