Sixteen golfers chose to take a crack at the fabulous Phoenix golf course and playing off the white tees we took on Lake and Ocean nines in that order.

With the numbers down we only played the one flight but kept all novelties going.  It was Bill ‘Shooter’ McGarvie that set the game alight and returned a very good score of 40 points.  Breathing right down his neck were Darren Slade and Alex Field, who again had to go to the count-back to sort out placings.  Colm Mullen, obviously with no jetlag problems, took out fourth place on the podium.

Thursday, Nov. 9, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st JC Lhoste (28) 32pts

2nd Steve Younger (13) 32pts

3rd Colm Mullen (25) 31pts

4th Alex Field (19) 30pts

Near Pins: #2 Glenn Smith, #6 Tony Cook, #13 Mike Gosden, #17 Steve Younger.

Long Putt: #9 JC Lhoste, #18 Mike Powell.

For those who are not aware Treasure Hill is offering fantastic pricing at the moment and there were seventeen golfers that took to the challenge.  The course was in great shape and we played from the yellow tees on a day that showed no sign of rain.

Two players stood up in what was a low scoring day.  JC Lhoste and Steve Younger both returned to the scales with 32 points apiece and the count-back system came into play (much to Steve’s nervousness, he does not feature well in count backs).  Well he was not let down as JC took out the title leaving Steve to ponder what might have been.  Taking out third was Colm Mullen, with Alex Field filling the final spot on the podium.
