After a quiet week it was a nice to have a reasonable number today for Royal Lakeside with 11 players. The course was in perfect condition and suited Stan Smith on his last game with us before returning to work in Australia. Starting out with 26 points on the front half he did not let up on the inward nine and came home with a whopping 49 on his card. He can say hello to his new handicap when he returns.
In second place just 10 shots back was Graham Buckingham off the silver tees with 39 points, one ahead of Stan Stewart who at last managed to beat the poor old Donkey by one shot. He also got a couple of near pins into the bargain, along with Geoff Bracegirdle who got the other one.
