Tuesday, June 27, The Emerald – Stableford
We went to the Emerald on Tuesday and found the course and greens in good condition. Our low handicap players wanted to play off the blue tees, a real challenge on this course. We had quite good weather with some sun and clouds, but it was very warm.
The low handicappers were in good shape today and left the rest of the players behind them. The winner was Dave Smith with 35 stableford points and in second was Jonathan Pratt with 31.
The near pins were a problem today and only Jonathan Pratt hit the green.
Thursday, June 29, Treasure Hill – Stableford
On Thursday we went down to Treasure Hill and as we only had 1 group we played a match-play comp. The course was in good condition but damp from recent rain. We started with sun, but soon the dark clouds came over the hills and two times we had to hide from showers.
The results at the end saw Paddy Devereux and Willem Lasonder beat Neil Harvey and Jonathan Pratt.
