Monday 10th March at Green Valley was a good day for number 34.  Four players finished with this score and the count back machine was working overtime to settle the places.  The winning sequence was determined to be Mike Phillips (H/cap 15), Paul Walia (15), Terry Phur (20) and Romeo Cerato (12), with Peter Henderson (18) alone in 5th with 33 points.

Wednesday 12th we travelled north to Khao Kheow.  I had not played this course for 2 years due to various reports about the poor condition but was pleasantly surprised that the course was in excellent condition with tees, fairways and greens as good as any around and better than most.

Vincent Smyth (15), who is most accustomed to lush green grass, took advantage of the nice lies and romped home with 44 points.  If his handicap was not in question before then it certainly is now.  Second place went to Derek Wilkin (19) with a very good 40 points, from Glen Ellsworth (12) in third with 38.  Fourth place went to Remeo Cerator (12) with 34 points.

On Friday the regulars were back home at Green Valley but a last minute competition saw us switched to St Andrews for the day.  Leading the way was Dave Hester (10) with 40 points from Ted Gardner (8) with 39.  Third place went to another low handicap player in Phonsie McGahan (7) with 38 points and completing the podium were Ben Findon (20) and Derek Wilkin (19) both with 36.
