PSC Fishing News

Thursday 5 January saw the first trip for the PSC in 2012 and what a great trip it was for the group.

Seven stalwart fishermen set off from Sattahip at 07:00 in absolute mill pond waters on a bright sunny day, full of aspirations for good catches, and none of us were disappointed!

Happy anglers with their catch. Happy anglers with their catch.

Sommai, the champ of the day, showed the rest how to fish.  With her new rod, a metre long, she proceeded to catch 6 coral trout of between 1 and 3 kilos, many grouper of over 1 pound and, with Peter assisting, managed a total of over 30 kilos for the day.

Jeff and Khammoon bagged around 20 kilos, I managed 17 plus kilos and Rich, who likes to have numerous rest periods, siestas and smokes, finished with over 10 kilos.

The captain, true to his word, had a much improved ladder and boarding and leaving boat was made easier and considerably safer.  Nevertheless, high and low tides will require all of us to exercise caution when boarding and docking.

Our trip on 26 January is fully booked but check out the PSC website for details of future excursions.
