1st John Mulrooney (13) 40pts

2nd John Emmerson (16) 38pts

Before I get on to the golf this week, let me remind you of our Songkran trip to  Khao Yai departing on the 14th of April and returning on Monday the 20th.  We play 4 rounds up there and stay in Pak Chong so see our facebook page as listed at the bottom or drop by TGC for more info.  All are welcome to join us!

Messrs. Coertzee, Forster and Ferris celebrate!Messrs. Coertzee, Forster and Ferris celebrate!

Mullah done the 40!  John Mulrooney has had his game come round and is turning in some great cards.  Today was no exception but this time he outdid himself and got into that 40 circle.

John Emmerson is starting to chip away at his handicap, 16 now, and his 38 points should bump off some more.

Visiting from Oz, Gary Emmett joined us again and just missed shooting his handicap but his 35 was good enough get a place on the podium.

Wednesday, March 25, Pattana (white tees) – Monthly Medal

1st Darren Stanton (21) net 74

2nd Kenny Aihara (3) net 77

3rd Peter Rogers (21) net 78

The course at Pattana was in immaculate condition and with fine weather ahead of us it was going to be a great day out.

We have not seen Mr. Rogers in the neighbourhood for awhile, so it was high time Peter teed it up with us for old times’ sake.  It ain’t easy for a high handicapper to do well on these Medal outings, but Peter showed it was possible as his 78 took sole 3rd for a great result on the day.

TGC regular Kenny Aihara has been a bit absent from the podium as of late, and good to see him back in form with a 77.  Not his best day out, but a solid round good enough for 2nd place.  It must have been tougher than expected out there!

Winner winner chicken dinner went to our Australian buddy Darren Stanton who blew away the field with a 74, a full 3 shots better than anyone else.  Darren is staying with us here at TGC and has added a new blue Antigua shirt to his wardrobe for winning this Monthly Medal for March.  Also a 21 handicapper, you just never know how good of a day you are going to have at this crazy game we all love!

Friday, March 27, Pleasant Valley (blue tees) – Stableford

1st David Forster (14) 37pts

2nd David Ferris (23) 35pts

3rd John Coertzee (17) 33pts

We had heavy rains earlier in the week in Pattaya so I guess they must have had a good dose of it here at Pleasant Valley.  That is probably why the greens here were a bit furry today.  When the greens are slow, my advice is always to hit that putt a little harder.  Seems to work most of the time.  We were off the blue tees today as they came closest to our desired 6,400 yards

Condition of the course was very good and they are keeping this place up to the standards demanded by most locals.  People sometimes complain it is a bit cramped here and I agree, but it is still a good day out and with our PSC vouchers a tremendous value.

Dave Forster was the big winner today and just in time before he heads home to England.  David had a very exciting round with a birdie on the first hole and on the par-3 17th he just lipped out, missing an ace by a fraction and that really got the caddies screaming!

Thanks to all who joined us for another amazing week of super golf in Pattaya. Cheers!
