Sunday, November 9 saw the final round of the Kawasaki Road Racing Championship, held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram.  Pattaya’s Ben Fortt, taking on 27 other riders from all across the country, was riding the well prepared Kawasaki zx10 1000cc and representing the SRRUN Racing Team from Bangkok.

Qualifying took place on the Saturday and Fortt put in some very special times which gave him a well earned pole position for Sunday’s race.  The atmosphere on race day was electric, with fans from all over the country cheering their riders on.  The weather stayed dry although it threatened to rain just before the off, but the dark clouds passed by and that made all riders and teams happy.

As soon as the red lights went out Fortt hit the front and pushed hard to give himself a decisive lead, holding off all the early challengers to take the chequered flag by a comfortable margin and lift the trophy.

Fortt commented after the race that he loves the circuit in Buriram: “It’s as good as any top circuit in the world and it brings the best out of me,” he said.  “My Kawasaki was running great and I even matched my personal best lap from previous visits.  As usual I could not have achieved this without the backing of my great team SRRUN Racing and my loyal sponsors CEA, Sensations A-Go-Go and Panda Rider Shop in Bangkok, so a big thank you to all that helped me.”
