Tuesday, August 8, Silky Oak – Stableford
Silky Oak was in good condition this day although the fairways were a bit soft and the greens a bit slow. We were around fast and soon changed and in for a quick bite before coming back to BJ’s.
Back at home base it was soon into the results and we had the earliest for a long time. The main point is that the ‘Organisers’ carried the day and the familiar face of Dick Warberg with 40 points won, with Derek Brook in second on 39 while taking third spot was Graham Buckingham with 37.
The best front nine (non-winner) came from Brian Parish with 17 points and the back nine best was Mick Coghlan with 15.
Thursday, August 10, Pattavia – Stableford

On arrival today we found few vehicles in the parking lot and a couple of groups teeing off, so after a quick check-in our groups were soon on the first tee and off. The course seemed a bit on the dry side, the water in the hazards had all but dried up, and hitting off areas a bit off the fairways was bound to be from a tight, hard lie.
With four podium positions and no technical’s it was short and sweet at presentation time later in Pattaya. Congratulations to John Sykes for his 40-point round and his first win ever with Tropical Golf. John has been seriously working on his game during this visit and it is paying off.
