Saturday 18th June featured the 2nd quarterly Blue Heeler triples competition held at the Coco Club – Ban Amphur. A similar format whereby Leads, Seconds and Skips where placed in different pots to ensure a fairer choice of teams in the two by four team leagues.
The round robin leagues were all completed and played before lunch.
At the end of the league process only one team was unbeaten – in league B – Allan, Gadget Stewart and Headmaster Jim and they were drawn to play in the semis against the team of Bank, Geoff and Peter – runners up in league A. The other semi featured Peter, Colin and Lita, winners of league A against runners up in league B – Rick, Sue and Les.
The semis possible showed league A to be a little stronger with team Peter having a rematch in the final against team Bank. The league match finished 11 – 7 to Bank but the final was very close and nip and tuck all the way to stand at 6 – 6 going into the last end with Bank down but managing to fire the Jack into the ditch for one and a 7 – 6 win.
Third place saw team Allan overcome team Rick 13 – 8. A very enjoyable day and followed by a social evening at the Blue Heeler for the prizes.
New bowlers are always welcome to join in the Wednesday and Sunday open days where the bus leaves the Blue Heeler in Soi Lengkee at 10.00am to return at around 3.00pm. Tuesdays and Thursday are now available for new leagues, fun party groups or corporate events.
Next competitions are on July 16th and 17th – open mixed foursomes and then the Thailand Transplantees Association event on July 19th and 20th – Single and Pairs.
