108 teams started the second edition of the ever-popular Sheraton Krabi Trophy Adventure Race on September 21. According to many, this event has become one of the most exciting adventure races in Asia and offers some of the most stunning scenery. Held at the beautiful Sheraton Krabi Resort and Spa, this race has all the ingredients for top class adventure racing.
After a 16km muddy and technical MTB section, athletes experienced a vertiginous but short run to the lagoon swim. Then another short run before the long ocean swim to the kayak CP.
Competitors took on a 9km kayak through the spectacular Tha Lane gorge.
The 9km kayak section took place through the Tha Lane gorge, one of the most scenic and spectacular places for paddling in the world.
Then there was a long, interesting and varied run through the national park and back to the bikes. The last MTB ride brought racers back to the Sheraton beach and the finishing line.
Race winners Saman Gunan and Jantaraboon KiangchaiPaiphana.
This year winners were Team Champion System/Feel Free 4 comprised of Saman Gunan and Jantaraboon KiangchaiPaiphana (Jay) who crossed the line in a time of 4:20:10.
