Thai rider places 2nd at FEI Eventing Championship

The FEI Asia Continental Eventing Championship 2017 took place from 7 – 10 December at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya.
The FEI Asia Continental Eventing Championship 2017 took place from 7 – 10 December at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya.

Thai equestrian Somjai Sanhom rode to second place in the FEI Asia Continental Eventing Championship in Pattaya, which was a qualifier for the Southeast Asian Games for the Thai team.

Saeed Hamad M.S. Al Rashidi of Qatar took first place in the Dec. 7-10 competition at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club. Yu Xuan Su of Hong Kong took third.

The championship was the sole FEI regional eventing competition in Asia and was inaugurated in 2013. It also awarded qualifying points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Catrin Norinder, director, eventing & Olympics for the International Equestrian Federation, said at a Dec. 7 press conference at the Movenpick Siam Hotel that 47 riders from seven countries entered the competition.
