PSC Golf from Colin’s Golf Bar

Sunday, Oct. 11, Silky Oak – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (19) 39pts

2nd Christian Boysen (14) 38pts

3rd Bent Larsen (35) 38pts

Fourteen golfers out today and the weather prospects were looking great.  Colin ‘the Donkey’ Davis getting to like this new pasture and with 23 points on the front he was flying but as he sobered up he slipped back to his old ways with only 16 on the back nine, but it was still enough to top the scoring and let Christian pick up the comp fee.

A group of Vikings followed Colin on the leaderboard, Christian Boysen, Bent Larsen and Mogens Mellander, all tied on 38 points and with the former getting the edge on count back over his playing partners.

We had just finished when the heaviest storm most of us have ever seen hit and within a few minutes the car park was flooded.  Talk about good timing.  So then it was back to Colin’s Bar for a well deserved roast dinner.

Friday, Oct. 16, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

1st Ed Wyckoff (13) 38pts

2nd Colin Davis (19) 32pts

3rd Arthur Busch (21) 31pts

Just a small group today due to T.Q, Masters, but we welcomed back Pierre Bietry from his world tour, old friend Arthur Busch and also Aidan Murray and Colm O’Donovan back from Ireland.

The course was in good condition if a little rough round the edges, this is due to the tough time the course operators are facing, but the weather was kind to us today and it turned out very warm on the back nine.

Ed Wyckoff was back from a trip to Texas and the way he played showed he was not rusty in any department of his game; 22 points on the front nine followed by 16 on the inward half saw him blow away the field.  ‘The Donkey’, who was marking his card, was only 6 points behind at the end after finishing strongly and the aforementioned Arthur Busch came in third with 31.
