Monday, July 11, Treasure Hill – Stableford

Our first return here since the prices were hiked up but now back to reality today, the course was in good condition and everyone enjoyed the round.  It was a cool day with a gentle breeze blowing and the cut in division 1 was 6-18 and division 2 19+.

We started off on the 10th tee and the best score of the day was 42 points for Tony Thorne winning division 1; Mike Missler and Chris Voller fought for second place nine points behind but Mike won on a 19/12 back-nine count-back.

Billy Hewitt and Chris Voller birdied the 17th and 6th holes to split the ‘2’s pot in division 1 and in division 2 there was a rollover to Pattaya Country Club next Monday.

Friday, July 15, Eastern Star – Stableford

The fairway’s here are in immaculate condition and the new greens are still improving every week but a trifle slow today.  The condition of the whole course has been manicured and is upgraded every week.  It is the busiest we have seen this course in months and we still teed off on time.

Two scores of 38 won both divisions with Mikael Andersson, playing off 9, taking division 1 and a new member who joined up here at Eastern Star this week, Bill Bertram, in second with 35.  Grant Cadell beat Tony Thorne 19/18 on the back nine for third after they both finished with 34 points.

Bryan Rought topped division 2 after he came in on time with 38 points, Glyn Evans was second with 33 and the New Zealand boy Tom Novak beat Jim Lane on a 18/15 back 9 count-back of 18/15 for third.

Playing off 5 Jeff Corderio birdied the 3rd hole to win the ‘2’s in division 1 and Jim Lane on the same hole in division 2 claimed six rollovers.
