A medium size group took the journey out to Emerald golf Course and weather conditions were what could be called ideal. The course was, as always, in very good condition with the greens playing true.

We attacked from the yellow tees and we had a three-way count-back at the top of the leader board, with Martin Kempton taking the title while Andre Van Dyke and Denis Steele had to be separated by the front nine last 6.

Thursday, July 19,
Pattana – Stableford

1st Alex Field (19) 38pts

2nd Jayson Schembri (20) 37pts

Near Pins: Mark Stapleton, Bruce Walters, Alex Field, and Steve Younger.

Long Putts: Alex Field, Mashi Kaneta.

Eleven golfers went to Pattana on Thursday, not a course that we get to too often but never the less yet another fine venue at a discount price.

The course was in great shape and apart from “No Carts on Course” you would not be aware of the fact that we have had plenty of rain. Weather was perfect for the day not too hot with a bit of a breeze, although looking at the back of one golfers head you would have thought that it was a full on sunny day.

We played courses B & C from the yellow tees using the “pick, clean and place” ruling. As stated, the fairways were great, greens were true and it was all in order. All you had to do was play!

Alex Field got out of the blocks early but round the home turn, with the finish line in sight, he duffed it off the tee and let Jayson Schembri back in with a chance, but Alex just managed to hang on by one point.
