PSC Golf from The Golf Club

Monday, May 14, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

1st Frank Tordeur 42pts

2nd Zed Beloglavec 37pts

T3rd Peter LeNoury 36pts

T3rd Dave Ferris 36pts

Still a decent turnout for low season as we filled the vans with 5 groups of golfers and headed to Green Valley.  The greens here are still ragged but usable and as the old saying goes, it’s the same condition for everybody. Still, it would be nice if the golf courses gave us some sort of discount or freebie whilst this is going on.

Lightning but no rain were the conditions of the day as some very good scores were recorded on this venture. Peter LeNoury, in his last game for this trip, tied with stalwart Dave Ferris at 36 for third. Zed was right there once again with a steady 37.

Today was a sweet one for Frank Tordeur as the Belgian carded a massive 42 for a great win. Frank has been a solid scorer on this trip and this day he took the bulk of the handsome man vouchers home.

Nat Meesuk won the Caddy Smile near pin.

Wednesday, May 16, Burapha A & B (white tees) – Stableford

1st Frank Tordeur 36pts

2nd Lothar Egger 34pts

3rd Thierry Danzas 32pts

A European podium was the feature of today’s results as a 1-2-3 went to Belgium, Austria and France respectively. Is this a possible Ryder Cup indicator? We shall see!

Burapha was in beautiful shape today and the A & B tracks kept the boys in check as only one shot to their handicap.

Frank Tordeur was at the top again for his second win this week. Waltzing into second place from Vienna, it was “Curly” with a solid 34 for Lothar who has swapped the beaches for the bunkers. Chef Thierry Danzas cooked up a 32-point round and winner Frank also claimed the near pin. Paul Kidder thought he had it but although his was closer it was also just off the green.

Friday, May 18, Mt. Shadow (blue tees) – Stableford

1st Zed Beloglavec 32pts

2nd Mark Wood 31pts

3rd Lothar Egger 30pts

Still a great golf course, we often overlook the virtues of Mountain Shadow to our detriment. The layout is excellent but maintenance can be inconsistent. Today it was in pretty good shape but the greens were as hard as a tabletop. We played off the blues as they measured under 6,300 yards and the drives were rolling pretty well.

We found Lothar still stalking for a win on the leader board with regular Mark Wood right there as well. Zed got the better of them both so at just 32 points, we had our winner.
