We were underway for the Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club on time, arriving a short 50 minutes later. The course was deserted so we booked in and hopped on the first tee at 0930 and down the first 30 minutes early.
The weather was fine and windy, not common this time of the year, and the course was in fine shape with the bunkers finally firming up after what seems like years of being soft. We finished in a quick 4 hours and 10 minutes.
Back in the clubhouse it was quite evident with the scores and stories being told that the chipping gods were not here today. Norway’s own Tore Eliassen was the winner with 33points with Ted Morris in second on 30 points and Ronnie Ratte third with 27.
There was one golfer arriving at the course with no clubs, leaving them home in his garage, and one ‘no-show’ sitting at home thinking he had signed up for next week!
