PSC Golf from Lewiinski’s Golf Society
Friday, Nov. 27, Khao Kheow A & C – Stableford
A Flight
1st Jason Barnett (4) 39pts
2nd Mike Allidi (3) 37pts
3rd Peter Terry (17) 35pts
B Flight
1st Joe Tynan (28) 39pts
2nd Mick Limmins (26) 39pts
3rd Peter Henshaw (20) 34pts
It was off to the fantastic Khao Kheow, the difficulty of which plagues the society. So it was surprising to see 82 years young Joe Tynan standing shakily on the top of the B Flight podium. Joe stood on the first tee sleeves rolled up and returned a splendid man of the match 39 points, proving that youth and strength is not a requirement to play good golf. Joe also had to gain a count back decision over Mike Limmins. Joe’s friend Peter Henshaw filled the flight with 34 points.

A Flight’s co-man of the match was Jason Barnett who was two clear of Mike Allidi. Peter Terry closed the flight on 35 points.
After the presentation Joe was last seen heading towards Walking Street.
Sunday, Nov. 29, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Gerry Hughes (22) 41pts
2nd Barry Copestake (15) 38pts
3rd Eddy Beilby (18) 37pts
4th Adam Barton (10) 36pts
5th Peter LeNoury (11) 33pts
A somewhat smaller field than usual made the Sunday trip to Green Valley resulting in the formation of one division but with five podium spots up for grabs. Gerry ‘the Irish rover’ Hughes took full advantage and posted a man of the match 41 points. Gerry seems to be riding a purple patch at the moment – let’s hope he keeps it up as his new handicap will require it.

Following Gerry up the podium steps was one of Lewiinski’s regulars, Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake with 38 solid points. Barry was followed by his good friend Eddy ‘the Eagle’ Beilby a shot in arrears. Adam Barton took the fourth podium spot with a good even par round.
Peter ‘the right honourable’ LeNoury and good friend Jimmy ‘AK47’ Bell went to a count back for fifth with Peter just winning the inner nine by the slenderest margin, leaving Jimmy you know where and potless.
Monday, Nov. 30, Treasure Hill – Stableford
1st Thierry Petrement (12) 37pts
2nd Colin Green (11) 33pts
3rd Peter Henshaw (20) 32pts
To start the week out right the society decided to open a chapter of the Highway 331 to visit the beautiful Treasure Hill and the course, as always, was in excellent condition.
Nice Guy Thierry Petrement seemed to weather the long ride slightly better than the rest as he was the only player to better his handicap with a rock solid 37 points for the day’s man of the match honours. Thierry was four strokes clear of Colin Green while Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw was left to close the flight a shot back.
Wednesday, Dec. 2, Greenwood C & B – Stableford
A Flight
1st Thierry Petrement (12) 35pts
2nd Thomas Haering (15) 33pts
3rd Reg McKay (15) 33pts
B Flight
1st James Morris (19) 38pts
2nd Jim Elphick (26) 37pts
3rd Merle Humphreys’ (18) 35pts
Just down the road from Treasure Hill is the Wolveridge and Thomson designed Greenwood, which was the venue for today’s competition and is another diamond in the rough, being a great course and very affordable to play. Some of the views are breathtaking and the course is playing exceptionally well at the moment with very good fairways and pretty fast and even greens.
James Morris took the B Flight top spot and man of the match honours with a splendid 38 points. Jimmy ‘two shots’ Elphick followed James up the podium steps with a solid 37 points while Merle Humphreys rounded out the flight with 35.
Thierry Petrement made it two wins on the trot as he headed the senior flight with35 points. The minor flight spots needed a count back to separate Thomas Haering and Scotland’s Buckie boy Reg McKay; Reg being the unlucky one as he had the slightly inferior back nine.
Friday, Dec. 4, Pattana – Stableford
A Flight

3rd Jason Barnett (3) 38pts
B Flight
1st Jim Elphick (26) 39pts
2nd Paul Garvey (17) 36pts
3rd Ken Hole (17) 32pts
A quality field took to the road to play the very popular Khao Kheow and again it was mad hot and humid. As always, the course was in excellent condition.
Today’s scores were most impressive, none more so than Mike Allidi’s who took charge of the senior flight with a sparkling man of the match 42 points (gross 69). Scotland’s sole reprehensive Reg McKay took second with a fine 39 points while Jason Barrett followed Reg up the podium steps with a rock solid 38 point return.
Jimmy’ two shots’ Elphick took the honours in the junior flight with a sound 39 points, Paul Garvey took the silver with a even par round and Ken Hole was left to tidy up the flight with 32 points.
