PSC Golf from Lewiinski’s Golf Society
Sunday, June 5, St. Andrews – Stableford
1st Gerry Roche (17) 34pts
2nd Michael Beresford (19) 32pts
3rd Peter Henshaw (23) 31pts
Not sure if it was the change of seasons and the hot weather or the after effects of Jim’s excellent birthday party at Lewiinski’s the night before, but the turnout was a bit sparse.

Today’s challenge was the very tough St Andrews as our regular Sunday bash at Green Valley was hosting a Thai sanctioned event.
Amazingly all three podium spots were filled with players who had two wipes on their cards. They also had excellent front nine score with a major collapse on the back nine. In second place was Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford with 32 points while the flight and man of the match honours went to Gerry ‘the Irish rover’ Roche with 34. Completing the podium spots was Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw with 31 points. Told you it was tough!
Monday, June 6, Treasure Hill – Stableford
1st Joe Tynan (33) 38pts
2nd Ken Hole (17) 34pts
3rd Tom Gorey (18) 34pts
Still not a lot of golfers about due to the low season and the society’s back to back fixtures, so it was a small but dedicated group who made the journey up the 336 Highway to play the always challenging Treasure Hill. Hot and humid weather and a course in excellent condition welcomed the society.
Only one man bettered his handicap, that being the evergreen Joe ‘sat nav’ Tynan who took the day’s honours with a magnificent 38 points. Joe’s score was remarkable on this tough track considering his age of 83 years. Well done Joe.
Two players were knotted on 34 points – Ken ‘here’s hear again’ Hole and Co. Killkeny’s Tom Gorey – with the luck of the Irish running out for Tom as Ken had the better of the count back.
