Wednesday, Sept. 23, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st Murray Hart (15) 38pts

2nd Stephen Mann (12) 32pts

3rd Andre Coetzee (08) 31pts

We visited Treasure Hill for the second time this month due to a last minute change away from the scheduled Khao Keow.  Using the really good rate on offer, this course does provide great value for money and with the condition that it’s in, the longer drive is definitely worth it.

(L-R) Tom Byrne, Suzi Lawton, Eddy Beilby, JP Maffray and Bob Mattes.

Playing from the easier yellow tees, scoring was still difficult and you have to pay respect and play just about every hole with care, staying on the fairways whilst still missing the trees.

Murray Hart certainly got that right on the front nine, scoring a great 22 points and just a couple over gross.  On the back nine, playing harder for almost everyone, Murray scored 16 points to finish with a brilliant total of 38, beating the rest of the field by a full 6 points.  It does show what can be done on this course if you keep your wits about!

Welcome back to Steve Mann who returned from his trip to Australia and got right into the swing of things, beating Andre to finish second with 32 points.

Friday, Sept. 25, Green Valley – Stableford

Div 1 (0-15)

1st JP Maffray  (11) 38pts

2nd Kevin Hamilton (15) 34pts

3rd Freddy Starbeck (10) 32pts

Div 2 (16+)

1st Tom Byrne (16) 36pts

2nd Bob Mattes (17) 33pts

3rd Eddy Beilby (18) 32pts

A sunny but not too hot day with a gentle breeze greeted 23 Outbackers today.  The course was in great condition although the greens were slightly slower than usual and maybe this was reflected in the scores.

In division 2, regular podium finisher Eddy Beilby occupied third spot a rung below Bob Mattes in second.  Welcome back to Tom Byrne who had a really good to finish and his 36 points took first place in the division.

In the top division it was all regular podium winners featuring again with Freddy Starbeck taking third and Kevin Hamilton second.  JP Maffray occupies the podium even more frequently and when he gets his game together he can be formidable as proven again today with a great 38 points for top spot.  JP was also the only person to score a ‘2’ so it was a very happy day all-round for him.
