PSC golf from Tropical Bert’s

Tuesday, Feb. 21, Greenwood – Stableford

Greenwood is a course we book every month; mainly because we can now get there pretty quick on the new roads, the course is always in good condition, the ‘rates’ are usually good, and most of all, all the players enjoy their visit there.

On this day the group at Bert’s was a little smaller than usual, due to various reasons, it may be that the High Season is coming to an early end, but we did have a full list for Friday.  So into cars and off we went.  The drive up there was as usual swift, up past Laem Chabang, turn left at the main road and keep going.  Easy really!

Winners and runners-up with one of Bert’s finest. Winners and runners-up with one of Bert’s finest.

We were soon there and booked in, then it was to the first Tee and we were to play the C & A Nines, quite a difficult day ahead.  The course was in its normal fine condition and as usual with the C Nine the lead-off, good scores were difficult to come by.  These nine holes always seem to be the toughest, but playing from the yellow tees gave everyone a chance.

As always the players got around here in reasonable time and then it was into the showers, and a bite to eat before we were able to get into cars for the slow amble back to Bert’s.  At this time of the day the roads were quite packed, still the Route 7 into Pattaya is such an asset to travel we still made good time.

Back at Bert’s most of the players were tucking into Bert’s Golfers special, before the presentation.  In the A Flight, 0 to 16, the winner was Rob Brown, playing well lately, with 37 points ahead of Mike Gaussa in second with 36 points and in third was Richard Kubicki with 35 points.

In the B Flight the winner was Andre Van Dyk with 38 points ahead of Bernie Cairns with 37 points and in third was Dick Warberg, back from sickness, with 31 points.  T.T.F.N.
